387 suspects arrested for flouting COVID order, prostitution in Edo

The Edo Command of the Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) has arrested 348 suspects for violating government order and protocol on COVID-19 in the state.

Mr. Makinde Ayinla, State Commander of the Corps in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Benin on Wednesday said that 39 suspects were also arrested for crimes such as alleged adulteration of petroleum products, armed robbery, cultism, kidnapping, human trafficking and prostitution.

In total, 387 suspects were arrested for various crimes in the state.

He also disclosed that victims were also rescued within the period and five vehicles recovered from hoodlums.

The commandant added that the sum of N824,000 was recovered by the anti-fraud unit of the command from suspected fraudsters.
