PLATEAU State Governor, Simon Lalong, said yesterday that peace has returned to the state. Lalong, who stated this yesterday at the Jos carnival, said it is aimed at promoting the cultural heritage, tourism potentials and business opportunities in the state.
Peace has returned to Plateau – Gov Lalong He said tourism has the potential to keep youths engaged and curb restiveness in the state and the country in general, especially with the return of peace to the state and having identified the tourism sector as the key to the revenue drive of his administration. The governor commended residents for staying peacefully with one another. He said his administration would continue to create a conducive atmosphere for all citizens to go about their trade and vocations without any hindrance. Our correspondent reports that over 10,000 persons from the 17 local governments and outside the state witnessed the first Jos carnival.
