Remo seek revival against Lobi Stars as Katsina United host 3SC
Relegation threatened Remo Stars will come up against Lobi Stars on Sunday at the Shagamu stadium as they try to improve on their dwindling fortunes.
The match will witness two newly appointed coaches seeking for victory in their first outing as the men in charge of their team’s technical benches.
After strings of poor results, Remo Stars fired former international, Coach Nduka Ugbade and reappointed their former coach, Fatai osho just as Lobi Stars also placed on suspension their technical Adviser, Godwin Uwua on three weeks suspension after some disappointing results.
Uwua was immediately replaced with Coach Evans Ogenyi as acting technical adviser of the team and will be in charge against Remo Stars.
It is a must win for Remo Stars who have remained at the bottom of the log since the commencement of the season but Lobi Stars Moses Bunde said they are in Shagamu to compound the woes of Remo Stars.
“It is a known fact that our opponents are struggling but we are not going to take anything for granted. We also need victory considering that we drew our last home match.
“Although we are going to play under a new coach, he has been part of the team for years and we are all used to his football philosophy.
“We shall give our best to win and improve on our standing on the table. It will be a difficult match but we are ready for anything we shall find in Shagamu,” he assured.
In katsina, Coach Baldwin Bazuaye will like to maintain his good run since he took over the team in acting capacity.
Since when he took over the team following the sudden exit of the former Technical Adviser, Coach Bala Nyiku, Bazuaye is yet to lose a match and he is hoping to keep up the good work.
The former international is therefore hoping that his wards will get the maximum points against visiting 3SC on Sunday.
“We are focused. We have refused to be carried away by recent performances which saw us picking points away at Niger Tornadoes and Lobi Stars.
“I have told the boys to remain focused. Against 3SC, we want to give our fans something to celebrate. For some weeks now, we have not played at home so I know they are eager to celebrate victory again,” he said.
