James Corden Chosen To Host Grammy Awards 2017
James corden While LL Cool J has been hosting the Grammys since 2012, it seems his reign has finally concluded. CBS has announced that Late Late Show host James Corden will be taking over the gig for the 2017 awards.
Corden is perhaps best known for his Carpool Karaoke segment, which has counted Adele, Justin Bieber, and Michelle Obama among its guests.
Recording Academy President CEO Neil Portnow has shared a statement on the decision. “He’s got big shoes to fill after the magnificent run we had with LL Cool J,” he said, adding, “James Corden is a commanding, dynamic showman who, we believe, is perfect to host the Grammy Awards.”
Corden himself also shared some thoughts on his new gig. “I am truly honored to be hosting The Grammys next year,” he said. “It’s the biggest, most prestigious award show in music and I feel incredibly lucky to be part of such an incredible night.”
The Awards have yet to announce nominees for the show, but we do know that Frank Ocean has opted out of a nomination for his projects Blond(e) and Endless.
The ceremony will take place Sunday, February 12 on CBS.
